Luxury car seized with passenger caught in Bolton

A luxury car was seized by police on Friday after being abandoned by its driver and passenger.

Police say the driver of a grey Audi failed to stop for them in Chorley Old Road before being abandoned in Cramond Walk, Halliwell.

The driver of the car as well as a passenger tried to escape officers on foot. The passenger was caught and detained by police with the drive set to be visited by officers 'soon'.

The car was seized as it has no valid insurance, police said.

A GMP Bolton North spokesman said: "Another car seized on Friday night. The driver of this vehicle failed to stop for officers on Chorley Old Road. The vehicle was abandoned and the driver and passenger made off.

"The passenger was detained and the driver will soon be having a visit from us. Vehicle seized for having no insurance."
