Anti-vaxx solicitor dubbed Covid nothing to be afraid of died of it 9 days later

Leslie Lawrenson, 58, was found dead by his 19-year-old son at their family home in Bournemouth, Dorset, just nine days after contracting the virus. Mr Lawrenson, who had refused a vaccine, documented his battle with the virus but insisted it was nothing more than a severe cold initially.  The solicitor also claimed he would rather have the antibodies in his immune system rather than a vaccine.

During his blog, which he posted on Facebook, Mr Lawrenson warned Covid is something we all must suffer despite admitting the pain had intensified.

Mr Lawrsenson claimed the symptoms were nothing worse than a bad cough before revealing he had been left in agony a day after contracting the virus.

In his second post on June 24, he admits “last night was dreadful” and that he’d remained in the fetal position for six hours.

In the first video, he says: “If I have got Covid-19, this is what 99.9 percent of us will experience.

His partner, Amanda Mitchell, 56, has diabetes and had been suffering with Covid and was admitted to hospital the same day Mr Lawrenson passed away.

She later revealed her partner had become influenced by content he read on social media before he was found dead at their family home.

Ms Mitchell, who spent a week in a Covid ward admitted they had been foolish.

She added: “I feel incredibly foolish. Les died unnecessarily.

“Les made a terrible mistake and he’s paid the ultimate price for that.

“It was a daily thing that he said to us: ‘You don’t need to have it, you’ll be fine, just be careful’.

“Les was highly educated so if he told me something, I tended to believe it.”
